3.25 gallon, spun aluminum gas tank with welded and reinforced Yamaha STR-3D851-30-00 luggage rack. This luggage rack fits the fixed mount backrest on the V Star 1300 and 1300 Tourer, but does not fit the quick release version.
This is a high quality American made tank measuring 8" x 16" and has an internal baffle to prevent 'sloshing' and weight shifting. It has a vent and comes with a rollover valve and a shut-off. It also comes with an extra locking gas cap and a custom made canvas cover bag.
I bought this for a long trip to Canada and have a bit more than $500 in it, but it really makes riding nice! Along with the main tank, this tank increased my total capacity to nearly 8 gallons which for me, means about a 300 mile range! Great when you're not really sure how far away that next gas station is going to be.
I'll include the hose for the roll over valve and 3-4 feet of plastic armored fuel line, but you'll have to sort out the plumbing to your main tank. I can tell you how I did it, but you'll need to decide for yourself the best way. Also, if you already have a Yamaha luggage rack, it can NOT be used as it will break (ask me how I know) , but perhaps we can work out a trade for the racks. I'm estimating a box 20" x 16" x 12", weighing about 15 pounds. I have a UPS account so I can save on shipping, estimating $30 for West Coast buyers and $45 for East Coast, just let me know where you live and I'll modify the shipping costs accordingly.
