This is an antique travel trunk made by the Eveleigh Baggage company of Canada. It has the brass lock(no key) embossed with Eagle Lock Company of Terryville,CT. The trunk is leather with a linen and ribbon lined interior. It has 2 inserts tray/compartments. There is a decal for the Bluff Point Hotel - Clinton Co. NY - Charles A Douglas. This was on Lake Champlain. It also has the Montreal graphics. The trunk is very heavy and on casters. One corner of the top needs to be re-stitched and i do think that is easily possible to do if you wish. An interesting thing about these trunks. They were very expensive and exclusive when new. Most trunks were wooden and less expensive. A leather trunk ,though sturdy, would not take the weight of a wooden trunk so would have to always be piled on top. This would ensure that it was unloaded first and be always on top of the pile. Sort of like first class unloading of luggage for the wealthy. Please contact us for shipping options/price quotes.
