29 1/2 x 20 1/2 x 9 inch, item # 3-390-01 as shown in the original MCM main catalogue of 1991 on page 16
extremely sturdy MCM coated linen material, handmade in Munich, Germany in the 80s and 90s
large MCM brass plate, consecutive numbered, can be engraved, to give it an extra personal touch.
Comes with a leather MCM luggage tag ( not in the pictures ) USED with lots of scuffs -
but when you travel a few times with a brand new suitcase - especially international -
it will look just like this one, but you can get it a lot cheaper ! The orange jaquard lining still looks like new !!
As you can see, suitcases with wheels were at the beginning at that time, and you cannot compare them
with the new ones now. Since new handles of MCM now have different measures, and MCM won't give me a replacement,
I had to find a 3D printer to produce a new handle, because the old one broke - this one can carry up to 100 lbs. ( pics. )
As managing director of MCM for many years, I used to travel quite some times as you can see on the picture
I added, for instance how my wife and I travelled on our honeymoon from Munich to NY and through Florida in 1989
for me it was very impressive to see all the luggage, golfbags,flightbags... all of the same brand -
( almost 10.000,- $ retail value ) you can imagine, how nice they treated us in every Hotel......
This suitcase ( infront of the picture ) sold for ca. 1.500,- $ retail back in the day
I am very positive, that you will not be able to find this design anymore worldwide
because it was discontinued many years ago, when MCM got a new owner from Asia.
