Founded in 1856, Germany’s famous Goldpfeil leather goods company was originally named “Ludwig Krumm AG.” In 1929, Mr. Krumm traveled on the luxury Golden Arrow train in London and was so impressed that he renamed his company Goldpfeil — "Gold Arrow" in German. The company no longer exists, making this suitcase even more of a rare find. In 2009, Prairie Shimizu Co. Ltd. acquired the trademark and established Goldpfeil International Co. Ltd. in Japan, China, South Korea, and Southeast Asia. New products are available, but they’re made in Asia and have no connection to Germany. This gorgeous suitcase measures 28” long x 19” tall x 8” deep and features: - “AG” logo in gold letters (zoom in to 12 o’clock on the first photo) - Thick, heavy, full-grain buffalo-leather - Trademark arrow on the suitcase’s brass closures and strap buckles - Trademark arrow pattern on the lining - Heavy leather straps (with brass buckles) that cover/protect the push-lock closures. - Brass push-lock closures. NOTE: 1. They can’t be locked as there is no key. 2. The more shiny closure is slightly bent but still works. Just pull down on the release bar below the keyhole and assist the hinged piece up with your finger. - Leather straps inside hold garments in place on both sides of the suitcase. - No funky odors NOTE: A small section of piping protrudes from the worn leather on one bottom corner of the suitcase. There are also a few nicks and scratches, mostly on the bottom. Zoom in to see every surface. If you have questions, please ask. Thank you for perusing my leather bag empire.
