Vintage Mark Cross Ltd. suitcase/hand luggage in tan leather and Mark Cross patterned cloth. I am unsure of the actual age of the bag, but I was informed recently that it was probably made after 1963. However, it has a retro 1930s-40s look to it.
Monogrammed with the initials ACB in gold stamp. Leather handle. Two brass zippers meet at the center front with a brass clasp at the ends of the zipper pulls. There is a leather strap that goes over this clasp and buckles at the front of the suitcase. Leather and cloth are in good condition, no smell or stains. Leather is slightly scuffed in some areas (please see front leather bands on the bag), but nothing that a bit of polish won't cure.
The interior of the bag is cloth. There are two (2) leather straps and buckles to hold clothing in place. The interior is clean, with no smell or damage.
Please note, one zipper needs repair: One of the zippers has jumped off the track and there are four (4) teeth missing near the bottom of the suitcase (where the pull probably left the track). * * * * * Please read the description and look at all photos carefully, as they are part of the condition description of the item. The antique mannequin that is pictured with some clothing items is marked size 12, but she is the ye olde size 12 (from 1953), which is about a modern-day ladies’ size 4. The item/s is being sold AS IS…no refunds, returns or exchanges. All sales are final . I am not running a store. I am trying to reduce the clutter in my life and repurpose lovely items back out into the world to people who appreciate, need, and want them! :-) All items are stored in a sealed, climate-controlled area, free from common allergens (i.e., pets, smoke, dust). I use recycled or recyclable materials for shipping. I have noticed that my local USPS office does not always scan tracking numbers at the time when packages are dropped off for shipping. Sometimes tracking will read “USPS awaiting item” or “A tracking number had been provided,” or “The carrier has the package” for days, and then the package arrives at its destination with no tracking in between! I have been on the phone with my post office more than once and they have simply told me, “It happens.” :-D So, please rest assured that once you see a tracking number for your item, it has been carefully packaged, dropped off for shipping, and is on the way to you.
